Greece is following the example of Germany and other European countries, started the program «Photovoltaic on Roofs», a project that beyond the ecological benefit for the country, could also be a source of significant economic benefit for every Greek family. A PV system according to the program can be installed on the roof or the facade of a house or in a very small business, and to convert sunlight directly into electricity. The systems maintenance is minimal and the duration of life long, and according to the program «Photovoltaic on Roofs» the sales contract with PPC is a 25 year period, giving large margins in comparison with the small investment.

Example : In an average 100 m² roof, power from 5-7 kW of PV modules can be installed.

AC Heliotechniki provides a PV system of 5kW with a price of 22.500 €. The system will produce 6.500 kWh per year energy that PPC will buy from 0,55 €/kWh. So the system will pay 3.575 € revenue to the owner each year. At 7 years already the system will generate income of 25.025 €, which will cover the initial cost and yield 2.525 € profit. From the 7 year the system will give profit, and until the 25 years contract expire will generate revenue of 66.875 € to the owner!
