Hybrid

Hybrid systems are a combination of photovoltaic system with diesel generator (a generating unit) or wind generator. These systems are addressed to larger residential or professional applications. The generator is usually automatically activated in emergency situations to help the solar system.

If the hybrid system is combined with the grid, then the grid is used as a backup source in case of emergency. Especially the hybrid systems are used for uninterrupted operation of strategic importance electrical loads or sensitive loads in areas where the grid produce problems (interruptions or voltage changes).
